Experian Integrated Marketing - sponsors of the CIM Power of Marketing 2009

The Chartered lnstitute of Marketing is holding its annual East Midlands marketing conference 'The Power of Marketing' on 2 October 2009 at The Nottingham Belfry.

This is the key event for talented, dynamic marketers from across the region to meet, network and share good practice.

Speakers will discuss how to make marketing key to the bottom-line – whether in a big company or a business start-up. It will allow you to share experiences and get ideas from colleagues who are facing the same challenges as you in this full day of professional development and networking.

The keynote speaker will be Sahar Hashemi, the lawyer turned entrepreneur who founded Coffee Republic with her brother. Other speakers include Professor Malcolm McDonald, one of the UK's leading academic authorities on marketing strategy and author of over 40 bestselling books, and Elizabeth Fagan, the Director of Marketing for high street retailer, Boots.

Our own Director of Marketing Consulting, Marie Myles, will be hosting a workshop session entitled ‘The Power of Insight and Targeting in a Recession’. Marie will discuss how the impact on marketing budgets is not the only feature of the recession, but that customer buying behaviour has also changed. Never more has the need for greater insight and targeting been so important in order to engage and resonate with the more cautious empowered consumer.

Marie will explore some key data and insight driven techniques to help marketers adapt and innovate to both manage and exploit these market conditions.
